I moved back to NJ because my husband moved to Iraq.
My other blog on LiveJournal gets all the love now.

Updates and Packing Crates
I'm awful at keeping up with this blog. Truth be told, it's easier to pay attention to my main blog which is elsewhere, only because it's been around for five years. Shame on me.
The husband will be deploying in a couple of months and I've decided to stay here in Texass for the year while he's gone. While all my friends and my Mom are back home on the East Coast, I really don't want to move back there any time soon. Not to mention, I don't want to have to move now then move again once he returns. I'd rather just kill time here and then move once the Army is done with him. Where will we be moving - to the Washington DC area, so that should be fun.
While El Paso really is not all that awesome - sand, dirt, dust, scorpions, it smells like poop when it rains - but I'll make the best of it.
I figure I'll go back to school, start painting again, try to get a job (although it might be hard since I don't speak Spanish - if not, I'll volunteer), visit friends and family around the country, get a sewing machine and make some stuff with the piles of fabric I stole from my old job (which I don't miss at all, by the way) - basically I'm just extending my already extended vacation.
That's all I have for now.

PAAAAAAARRRTTYYYYY
Having one is what I would be doing if I had any friends around here.
My darling husband left for a one month training exercise out in the Mojave Desert the other morning and won't be back until around the second week of February. So right now it's just me and Ziggy the kitty, hanging out, being awesome, eating Mike and Ike's and watching "Cocktail" in our fat pants.
I'm debating about whether or not I want to go back home to New Jersey for a week or so to kill some time, but the $400+ airfare is holding me back. Not to mention I don't know about taking the cat on the plane, since that would be about an extra $100. I could always call up Clint's Sgt's wife and ask if she would mind watching the cat for a week or I can kennel her, but it's just seems like a whole to-do.
Meh.

Spiders From Mars
Clint got me way too many things for Christmas, not that I'm complaining, but I only got him two things...that I didn't even get yet because I have no $$$.
Coffee pot, t-shirts, a bunch of books but the main thing he got me was a kitty!
We dabbled with the idea of getting a kitten a few months ago but somehow that thought bubble drifted away when we didn't want to deal with $100+ adoption fees and sickly looking cats at the animal shelter. Then on Christmas Eve he left the apartment in the middle of the day and came back an hour later with a little kitty cat in his arms.
She's about three months old, all white with a little grey patch on the top of her head that kind of looks like a flattened mohawk and hazel/gold eyes. After about a week and a half of just calling her "kitty" I finally decided to name her Ziggy Stardust. I know Ziggy Stardust was a man, but come on...he did lean a bit towards the lady side.

I think the name suits her well.
